What the GTA VI trailers show: Leonida, Vice City and the leads

The second trailer
Rockstar Games published the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI in May 2025, around 500 days after the first one, according to CGMagazine. It arrived together with the announcement of the then-current release date.
Rockstar confirmed that the trailer, which mixes gameplay and cutscenes, was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5, as reported by Gematsu.
The setting
The game takes place in Leonida, a fictionalised version of Florida. Vice City, a city players know from earlier games in the series, is part of that state.
We only describe what the trailers show. We do not publish maps, mission lists or locations that have not been confirmed by Rockstar, and we ignore leaked material.
The protagonists
The trailer introduces Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, presented as a criminal duo. Coverage compares the relationship to a Bonnie and Clyde pairing, and one of the characters is shown leaving prison.
Beyond that, plot details are not confirmed. Anything about missions, endings or character arcs that is not in an official Rockstar release belongs in the rumour category.
How to read trailer coverage
Trailers are marketing, so frame-by-frame readings are interpretations. When an article claims that a detail "confirms" a feature, check whether Rockstar said so itself.
If you want to follow the game's development, Rockstar Newswire is the primary source; press articles are useful for context but should be labelled as reported information.
