Block Puzzle: how to play

Block Puzzle is a relaxed spatial puzzle. You get three pieces at a time, place them on a 10×10 grid and try to complete whole rows or columns, which then disappear. There is no timer, so the only pressure is the shrinking room on the board.

Controls

Pick one of the three pieces in the tray, then click or tap the board where you want it; the piece is centred on that square. On a computer, hovering shows a preview that distinguishes positions where the piece fits from those where it does not. Pieces cannot be rotated.

Rules

  • Each piece scores one point per square it covers.
  • Completing a row or column removes it and scores extra.
  • Clearing several lines with one piece scores much more.
  • Consecutive clearing pieces add a combo bonus.
  • The game ends when no remaining piece fits.

Tips

  • Keep one side compact and leave a long corridor for straight pieces.
  • Avoid single empty squares surrounded by blocks.
  • Look at all three pieces before placing the first.
  • Do not fill the centre early; large pieces need open areas.

Advanced strategy

A clear is worth 10 times the square of the lines removed: 10 points for one, 40 for two at once, 90 for three. That outweighs placement points, so build two nearly complete lines that share a final piece. A combo adds 10 points per extra consecutive clearing piece. Survival still comes first.

Pieces and touch screens

Each new set of three is drawn from 25 shapes: single squares, lines up to five, rectangles up to 3×3, and L, T and corner forms. Since the piece centres on the square you tap, adjust by choosing a neighbouring square. The hover preview is a desktop feature.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate pieces?

No. Each piece keeps its shape and orientation.

How do I earn coins?

1 virtual coin per 100 points when the game ends, so under 100 points pays nothing. Coins have no monetary value.

Is there a timer?

No. Take as long as you need.
