GTA VI release date: timeline from fall 2025 to 19 November 2026

Reviewed: 2026-10-29

Where the date stands

The release date that Take-Two and Rockstar Games are working towards for Grand Theft Auto VI is 19 November 2026. On its earnings call of 7 August 2026, Take-Two referred to "the title's November 19th release", according to Gfinity Esports.

This page lists how the date got there. Every step below has a date and a source, and anything we could not confirm is marked as such.

Step by step

Fall 2025 was the first window mentioned for the game. On 2 May 2025 Rockstar Games announced that the release would move to 26 May 2026, as reported on the same day by MobileSyrup and Business Today, and by heise.

The date then moved a second time, from 26 May 2026 to 19 November 2026. GTABase and Guru3D both report this change. Guru3D also reports that the studio asked for more time to deliver the quality players expect and deserve, and quotes Take-Two's chief executive saying he felt very good about the new date.

Our sources for this second move do not give a precise announcement day, so we do not state one.

What we could not confirm

We did not find a reliable source showing that the date has changed since the 7 August 2026 earnings call. That is not a guarantee: dates can move, and the only authoritative place to check is Rockstar's own Newswire.

If you plan around the launch, treat the date as official but not unchangeable, and check the Newswire in the final weeks before it.
