Klondike Solitaire: how to play
Klondike is the solitaire most people picture: seven columns, a stock and four foundation piles to fill from ace to king. Gamemur deals a freshly shuffled deck each game, times you from your first move and counts your moves.
Controls
Tap a card and it jumps to the first legal spot, preferring the foundation; or drag it, with any face-up run on top of it, onto a column or pile. Tap the stock to draw, and tap it again when empty to turn the waste over.
Rules
- Seven columns start with one to seven cards; only the last of each is face up.
- Stack cards in descending order, alternating red and black.
- Only a king can go on an empty column.
- Foundations are built by suit from ace to king, one card at a time.
Tips
- Prefer moves that uncover face-down cards over moves that merely tidy up.
- Keep a column empty only if a king is ready to fill it.
- Hold low cards back from the foundations while other cards still need them as landing spots.
Undo, auto-finish and rewards in Gamemur
Undo keeps up to 200 steps, so you can test a line and take it back. Once the stock and waste are empty and every column card is face up, a Finish button sends the rest to the foundations. A win pays 100 virtual coins, plus 50 more under five minutes. Coins have no cash value and are used only inside Gamemur.
Phone and keyboard
One tap moves most cards, so dragging is optional on small screens. Face-up cards can be focused with Tab and carry labels with rank and suit for screen readers.
Frequently asked questions
Can I switch between draw 1 and draw 3?
Yes. The button under the table toggles it and Gamemur remembers your choice. Draw 3 is harder because fewer cards are reachable.
Does the hint solve the game?
No. It highlights in blue one card with a legal move, or suggests drawing when nothing else is left.
Is every deal winnable?
No. Deals are random and not checked, so some have no solution.
